Heads Up

It's been a busy week!! Earlier in the week you were granted a sneak peek at the latest cake. Well, now we can give you the full reveal! How adorable is this cake?! The whole idea started with the ribbon and then really came together with the stuffed giraffe on top.So what does this cake include.

The top layer is made up of 39 Pampers Swaddles Sensitive Newborn diapers while the bottom layer is made up of 56 Pampers size 1 diapers. Around the cake are Johnson and Johnson travel products, a pair of newborn socks, 2 NUK 0-6 month pacifiers, a car seat pull toy, 4 Gerber soft tip spoonsA Bright Starts rattle, 2 Gerber wash cloths, and six interlocking ringsAnd finally, a close up of the adorable ribbon.

So what do you think?

Virginia Tech

So a few days ago I posted photos of the Virginia Tech cake that I had just finished. Now for the details of the cake! This two tier cake features over 90 Pampers Swaddles Sensitive Newborn diapers (I think the final count was 92), Johnson and Johnson travel products, two teething rings, one Gerber wash cloth, two NUK 0-6 month pacifiers, 3 Gerber soft tip spoons, 1 wrist rattle, Aveeno Baby face sunblock (mom and dad live in Puerto Rico, seemed appropriate), and newborn socks.
One observation. You'd think living in Northern Virginia would mean Virginia Tech merchandise would be easy to find. FALSE! I searched high and low and couldn't find anything. As a last ditch effort I stopped into Dicks Sporting Goods and just happened to look over and see this adorable Virginia Tech sock monkey, one of only two remaining, along with the soft VT football. Somebody was looking out for me! The ribbon I had custom made by a vendor I found on Etsy. Check her out! It's the second time I've used her (the New York Yankees cake was the first time). So there you have it! A very "Hoki" cake!

Sneak Peek

Just wanted to share a little sneak peek at our latest cake!! Can't wait to finish it!

Hoki, Hoki, Hoki, Hy

I just wanted to take a quick second to share photos of the latest cake to come out of Personalized Diaper Cakes. This was a personal one for me as it was going to my cousin and his wife. I had fun putting together the Virginia Tech themed cake in honor of Becky and Brian. Let's just say that their little boy doesn't stand a chance, he will be a Hokie, whether he likes it or not!

Congratulations again Becky and Brian. We can't wait to meet your little bundle of joy!Stay tuned for a more in depth look at the cake later on.

Now, on to another one!

New(est) Cake!

We have a new cake to share!!I did a few things different with this cake. First off, I used woven ribbon. I was a little worried at first that the ribbon would be ruined by using a hot glue gun, but thankfully it held up perfectly!!

Here's a closeup of the ribbon which I found on Etsy (here)I also knew what I wanted for a topper (after talking with the person who ordered it) but couldn't find anything that I felt would fit. So I contacted another Etsy vendor who worked with me to create the perfect topper. I highly recommend The Q Store! She's great to work with and did an amazing job!
So what does this cake include?
115 Pampers newborn sensitive diapers
1 Custom made butterfly
Johnson and Johnson travel size products
1 Pair of purple socks (0-6 months)
2 Bibs
4 Gerber spoons
1 Brite Starts barbell toy
2 Wash cloths
1 Bright Starts wrist rattle
2 NUK 0-6 month pacifiers
1 Carseat toy
1 Rattle
Thank you to all of my outside vendors. I loved working with all of you!!

Now stay turned. I'll be turning out another cake this week.

Tickled Pink

Personalized Diaper Cakes was recently contacted to create a four tier diaper cake for a surprise office baby shower. And once discussions were underway, we were so excited with the color combination they wanted. Hot pink and black and white polka dot.
The colors just POP when you put them together. From here, everything just fell together perfectly! Including finding the perfect stuffed animal for the top of the cake on Etsy from BareSockcrafts
So are you ready to see the final product?

Well, wait no longer
Can't say it enough, LOVE the colors!

New York, New York

Our current project, a New York Yankees themed diaper cake.

Now, as someone living in the Washington, D.C. area and has been born and raised as a Baltimore Orioles fan, let me just tell you how difficult it's been to purchase anything New York Yankee related. But, I love my customers and will do anything for them, so, I sucked it up.

Here's a sneak peak at what is going to be used on the cake.

The bear is a homemade fleece bear with the Yankee pinstripe and as you can see the ribbon has the famous NY with their logo.

The layers of the cake are already put together, but the finishing touches are still needed.

And of course, when everything is finished, I'll post pictures.
