Petunia's

One of my mom's coworkers is pregnant with her first child and lovingly refers to her soon to be daughter as Petunia. So when their work was throwing her a baby shower, we knew that petunia's needed to be included in a diaper cake.

So, let me introduce you to the Girly Girl Petunia Cake.
Mom and dad to be have a lot of baby animals on their registry so we decided to run with that, adding in as much pink as we could, and finish it off with flowers.

And then, I threw something different in. For the first time, I made Cupcakes. Keeping with the flower theme, I even found special cupcake holders.

Congratulations Brooke. Can't wait to meet little Petunia!! The countdown is on!!!!

Pink Elephant

It's not every day that your father asks for a diaper cake to be made.

But that's just what happened.

A few weeks ago he came to me (well, actually I came to him, along with my husband and daughter, as we wanted to go swimming) and said that he missed his coworkers baby shower but wanted to send her a little something to celebrate the impending birth of her daughter. So I went to work.

My dad found out that her nursery is elephants, pinks and grays, so I set to work.

I started with the topper, which I actually purchased before finding out that the nursery would have elephants in it. Talk about lucky!
This cute little girl is made by the Taggies company, which make great products for little kids.

From there, it just came together.

This cake is made up of Pampers Newborn diapers, 2 NUK pacifiers, Soft tip spoons, Johnson and Johnson products, Carters elephant bib, a pair of newborn shoes, a carseat toy, wash cloths, and some teething rings.

I received word from mommy to be a few days ago saying that everyone arrived in once piece (Virginia to Colorado), so that's always a sigh of relief. But more important than that, she loved it. And that's what matters. Here's hoping you have a smooth delivery and enjoy every moment of having that sweet baby girl in your hands.

Winnie the Pooh

In the five years that I've been making diaper cakes, I'd never done one using Winnie the Pooh. How is that even possible?!!

Well that all came to an end a few weeks back when a repeat customer came back asking for a Winnie the Pooh themed cake for a coworker having a little baby girl. I couldn't wait to get started! And with a Winnie the Pooh theme, I knew there would be a ton of items out there that I could use.

I first went to Etsy to find items that were one of a kind. I first returned to Joeellztoo for custom shoes. This was my second time shopping here and I knew that I'd find something perfect. And I was right. After telling her about the theme and that it was for a little girl, she went to work. And what she came up with was PERFECT!!
I then did a little searching around to see what else was out there and I stumbled upon Rikapanda Crafts.

Seriously, aren't these the cutest things?!!

After placing my order, I got to work planning out the rest of the cake.

This cake is a four tier cake composed of 139 Pampers Newborn diapers, 2 NUK pacifiers, Johnson and Johnson products, an Eeyore chime carseat toy, the homemade shoes and homemade hair clips, 2 Winnie the Pooh wash cloths, 4 Gerber soft tip spoons, 2 Disney ring rattles, socks, a teething ring, pacifier clip and of course, a Pooh stuffed animal for the top.

I am THRILLED with how the cake came out. And I'm hoping that mommy to be loves it as well!!

Congratulations!

Busy Busy!

Diaper cakes galore here lately!

After the three diaper cake order, I jumped right in to two more cakes. The first cake I finished was created based around a general "girly" theme, and the second was based around mommy-to-be's career as a hair stylist!

So, the first one:

I've been eyeing this stuffed turtle for MONTHS and couldn't wait to find a cake where it would work.
This cake is made out of 97 Pampers Newborn diapers, Gerber soft tip spoons, Johnson and Johnson baby products, teething rings, cupcake carseat toy
Two NUK pacifiers, a pair of socks, one super soft wash cloth, a Bright Starts Teethe and Play caterpillar teether
And this super sweet girly turtle

And I'm in love with the ribbon. A white ribbon with a soft pink lining, and then a ruffle pink ribbon on top. It's so dainty and girly. I'm in love.

Now on to the second cake.

I'll admit, I was stumped on what I should use to top a hair themed cake. Nothing came to mind so I finally decided that I'd look around the store and see what jumped out at me. Finally, it found me.
She just fits the theme.

And now for the cake!
Made up 95 Pampers Newborn Diapers, a shake/rattle toy, two NUK pacifiers, Johnson and Johnson baby products, a Bright Starts Teethe and Play caterpillar toy, a bunch of hair bands
Teething rings, hair clips, rattle
and of course, headwraps and clips

So what do you think?

New(est) Cake!

We have a new cake to share!!I did a few things different with this cake. First off, I used woven ribbon. I was a little worried at first that the ribbon would be ruined by using a hot glue gun, but thankfully it held up perfectly!!

Here's a closeup of the ribbon which I found on Etsy (here)I also knew what I wanted for a topper (after talking with the person who ordered it) but couldn't find anything that I felt would fit. So I contacted another Etsy vendor who worked with me to create the perfect topper. I highly recommend The Q Store! She's great to work with and did an amazing job!
So what does this cake include?
115 Pampers newborn sensitive diapers
1 Custom made butterfly
Johnson and Johnson travel size products
1 Pair of purple socks (0-6 months)
2 Bibs
4 Gerber spoons
1 Brite Starts barbell toy
2 Wash cloths
1 Bright Starts wrist rattle
2 NUK 0-6 month pacifiers
1 Carseat toy
1 Rattle
Thank you to all of my outside vendors. I loved working with all of you!!

Now stay turned. I'll be turning out another cake this week.

Tickled Pink

Personalized Diaper Cakes was recently contacted to create a four tier diaper cake for a surprise office baby shower. And once discussions were underway, we were so excited with the color combination they wanted. Hot pink and black and white polka dot.
The colors just POP when you put them together. From here, everything just fell together perfectly! Including finding the perfect stuffed animal for the top of the cake on Etsy from BareSockcrafts
So are you ready to see the final product?

Well, wait no longer
Can't say it enough, LOVE the colors!
